How do I enroll?
Go to the catalog database, select the course or program that you want and click on the Enroll link. We have the program set up to offer either open enroll (start immediately) or fixed start and end dates. The choice is yours.

Do I need to buy any extra books or supplies?
It will all depend on what course or workshop you are taking. See individual program descriptions for learning supplies and system requirements. Many of the courses available don’t need anything extra to get started – just a willingness to learn.

How long will it take to complete my training?
Most of the courses are instructor led, meaning that students are engaged in a higher-level learning experience. Some courses span 5 and 6 week periods of outcome-based learning and student-to-professor interaction. With a certificate program, such as Medical Transcription, the time can last between 8 to 24 months depending on your own individual pace. With many of the programs you set your own pace…complete your training as quickly or as slowly as you like.

Do I need any previous experience?
Most courses are designed so even beginners with no experience can get off to a fast start toward an exciting new career. As long as you can read and write, and have average intelligence, you should be able to complete your training without any difficulty. However, some programs will require that you have other prerequisites to enroll. This prerequisite is noted in the individual program descriptions where applicable. It’s recommended that you be familiar with personal computers before enrolling in Web design programs, search engine training, and other such courses.

I have been out of school for a long time. Will I have trouble?
You shouldn’t. JER training is unlike attending classes at other schools. You proceed at your own, individual pace, learning at the most comfortable speed. Lessons are easy to understand, and contain plenty of pictures and diagrams to illustrate important points.

What are the types of interaction your instructors engage in?
Instructors use e-mail, chatrooms and forums for their discussions. Platforms for delivery include Blackboard and other Web-based instructional sites.

Some of the courses are priced just right and others tend to be a little more expensive. Why is that?
We recognize that students need to have interaction with a live instructor, someone they can talk to and interact with. Not all vendor-related programs offer that type of option and thus they can charge very little for their courses. We hire faculty from colleges and universities to teach many of our workshops.

What is a Continuing Education Unit? (CEU)
The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) represents continued learning and is a nationally recognized unit of measurement for noncredit continuing education. CEUs are not transferable college credits. One CEU is defined as 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education program taken under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction. Eighty percent attendance of total instructional hours and satisfactory course progress is required for a CEU credit.

What is your refund policy?
The JER Group is a customer service driven company providing a high-level of online instruction. However, sometimes problems and issues can affect enrollments. We have posted our refund policy in order to help the consumer make informed choices prior to purchase. In order to receive consideration for a refund you must call the JER Group at 706-216-3406 to request a drop from a class. This must occur within 24 hours of enrolling. (In advance of your enrollment make sure that you have carefully reviewed the course description and that you have scheduled the appropriate time to take the course.)
Technology-related issues such as server problems that delay a course from starting or interrupting a course already in progress do not qualify for a refund. A change of plans would not qualify for a refund. Your inability to download software or install it or run it on your computer does not qualify for a refund (however, we will try our best to help put you in contact with technical support personnel to aid in ssues of this type). Medical concerns and other unexpected problems (while understood) cannot qualify for refund consideration. However if circumstances warrant we can adjust your course so you may delay the start date. Any customer service issues regarding the prompt receipt of materials or other communication necessary for you to engage in your course of study should first be directed to your instructor and then to the JER Group if you continue to experience problems that need our attention and help.
No refunds are given for the Medical Transcription, Billing, Coding or Pharmacy Technician course materials. Books, software, CD’s and other proprietary instructional media issued to a student are non-refundable.
