Saint Leo University is regionally accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the same organization which accredits Duke, Emory and the University of Florida. Regional accreditation is the highest level of academic accreditation a college or university can obtain and is recognized throughout the United States.
Founded in 1889. as the first Catholic college in Florida, Saint Leo is a four-year university located on 170 rolling acres near Lake Jovita, just north of Tampa, FL. Saint Leo has established centers on 13 military bases in five states and created agreements with 11 community colleges.
