How It Works
No Classroom Attendance is Ever Required
You need only have access to the Internet to study anywhere around the world!
Courses begin every eight weeks. Each course is three credit hours and mirrors the course taught at the university’s ground-based campus. Upon acceptance, two faculty members will be assigned to you. The first is the instructor for the course, who teaches, assigns homework and determines grades. The second is the faculty advisor, who counsels students on degree requirements and answers any non-instructor related questions students may have. You will also interact closely with a third person, your University Alliance program representative, who offers administrative support throughout the degree program.
Through chat rooms and message boards, students and teachers interact in posting assignments, responding to questions, and learning about each other. Videotaped or streaming lectures and textbook reading supplement online assignments. Class sections are limited in size to 15 students each, so personalized attention is ensured.
You will never be required to log on at a specific time. Sessions are asynchronous, meaning you can sign on and participate whenever it’s convenient for you. You will never have to work your schedule around a specific class time. You can study at 3 a.m. or 6 p.m. – whenever and wherever it suits you.
Your grade for a course will be based on assignments evaluated by your instructor. All tests and quizzes are taken online. It will not be necessary for you to travel to a testing location or to make arrangements for private proctoring of any exams.
Your accredited degree is the same as one earned on the University’s main campus. You are invited to join your campus-based colleagues and celebrate your educational milestone by attending graduation ceremonies at the University.
